As one of many who have been prescribed both a PPI and a statin, are there recommendations regarding which to discontinue first and best methods for weening off these undesirable medications?

Hey!! In 2022, I had an appointment with a functional/integrative health professional. Best thing I ever did. Over the years, I had been put on several meds, including the two that you mentioned. Statins as a healthy 49 year old. I’m 72.

I expressed wanted to get off all meds, except for thyroid. I stopped statins easily without tapering off. With the PPI, I tapered off over 3-4 weeks.

I’d suggest you find a similar doc who wants to get to the root causes of any issue, express your desire and do it!! It’s two years later, I’m healthier than I’ve been in my life.

I owe much of my success, to the functional doc and to flccc.net for bringing this to light.

    All the best!!

There is no withdrawal from either medication, so just stop one day. There are a few people that have very high lipid levels that need help with that. I agree with getting with even the FLCCC doctors or functional medicine doctors that know cholesterol is not always bad.
